Three children had a scary ride with a car thief who may have been drunk in Saskatoon Monday night — and now he's facing a series of charges. The 25-year-old man is in custody after a car was stolen around 11:20 p.m. CST. Police said it all began when the man who was responsible for the NFL shop jerseys children left a car running in a driveway on the 100 block of Ruth St. E. He went into a home for a minute, leaving the three children — a boy, 11, and his two sisters, ages five and three — in the running Pontiac Grand Am. While he was in the house, someone jumped into the car and drove away. About seven blocks away, the suspect, described as a man in his 20s, let the children out. They weren't harmed. Police found the vehicle around 1 a.m. with the suspect at the wheel. He's now facing a number of charges, including:impaired driving.refusing a breath test.possession of NBA jerseys stolen property over 5,000.breach of conditional sentence order.breach of probation.Police said he may also face additional charges of unlawful confinement of the children. He's scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
