There has only been a dusting of snow in parts of Monmouthshire, Powys and the south Wales valleys but warnings of icy roads. Traffic Wales said the A470 was affected between Nant Ddu and Libanus after a lorry and car collided. More substantial snowfall did not materialise as conditions were milder than expected, say forecasters. It is understood at least two people have been hurt after a car and a lorry collided because of ice on the A470 at 05:45 GMT. BBC Wales weather presenter Sue Charles said: "The snow is confined to higher ground nearer the border - there are a few light snow showers for parts of Powys (in the Radnor hills) and the valleys - but nothing significant. "However, there has been a few centimetres of snow just over the border in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire. "As the snow risk diminishes - with temperatures near freezing - there could still be problems but the Met Office warning is now for ice rather than snow."
