As a Solutions QA Software Engineer, you’ll be joining a new team tasked with quantitatively improving overall quality in all of our products, with a focus on our largest customers. You’ll have the right tools – from a hands-off, fully-automated lab with a few thousand machines at your disposal, to a test code library built so that you concentrate on your test logic, not the trivial stuff. We understand that you need just enough of the right processes, so you’ll take part in code reviews and use proven documentation and progress tracking standards that help us build and test rock-solid products. And most importantly, you’ll have new challenges at every turn. Full-time – San Francisco, CA or Sunnyvale, CA You will: • Work directly and indirectly with large and strategic customers to determine how they design, implement, and use their corporate networks. • Simulate the network topology, network traffic, and usage patterns of our customers in the lab. • Produce test cases and test plans representing real-world usage of our products. • Produce tools and automation capable of testing simulated networks. • Identify areas of risk and communicate guidance NBA jerseys to other testing groups. • Develop a strategy to recommend a stable, high-quality release of each of our products to our largest customers. • Collect and report on metrics tracking progress. Required qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/CE/EE/Math/Physics or related fields and four years QA experience; or • Master’s degree in CS/CE/EE/Math/Physics or related fields and three years of QA experience. • Strong experience with QA Engineering methodologies. • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX-based systems. • Familiarity with networking (e.g., TCP/IP routing/switching, IOS/CatOS devices, WANs, iSCSI). • Familiarity with packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark). • Excellent logical debugging ability. • Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills. • Can approach complex problem-solving and troubleshooting tasks with creativity. • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and methodologies. • Solid attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills. • Can work independently but know when to ask for help. Desired qualifications: • Experience producing customer-facing documentation. • Familiarity with Windows enterprise application testing (e.g., Exchange, CIFS). • Experience communicating directly with customers. • Scripting and/or comprehension of Perl, Python, or C#. • Data analysis and/or statistics experience.
